Tarleton Moss is one of the UK's primary areas for growing salad crops.

The soil is rich in nutrients and was originally covered by the sea. Salad crops grown here can be found on most supermarket shelves in all parts of the UK.

We have all come to expect vegetables to be available all year round so local growers have adapted to meet this demand. Bulk deliveries from such places as Spain and Portugal are made to local companies who in turn produce what you see on supermarket shelves.

Currently, steps are being taken by your Parish Council to divert these bulk delivery vehicles away from the village centre. The "Green Lane Link" is considered as the best solution to the problem and strenuous efforts are being made to get this road built.
